Dr. B updated news

Not sure how this effects everyone else but for me it is a semi-good thing considering he is dropping all insurances.

So I just left his office and spoke with him directly, I get confused by all of this insurance stuff so this is what I was able to take in.

20 years ago he made his contracts with the insurance companies. Now there is so much paper work per person per procedure that his office is too tied up to function properly. He doesn't want to hire more staff or another Dr. so he made the decision to drop all insurances. He is upset about this and doesn't want to lose paitents but he is basically forced to do this to maintain quality care.

He is severing all insurances June 28th 2011, however if you have an out of network plan you can still see him.

For me with Empire BCBS Direct HMO because I am currently "in procedure" with him (IUI's) I can remain with him until Sept 29th 2011, as long as the codes don't change, now I don't have IVF coverage anyway so nothing would change for me, injectible IUI's would be the same code as a regular one.

HGe has an office manager working with him on these issues and I actually was called into her office to discuss, she is SO nice.

So not sure who can take what from my information, but I would suggest checking in with him because it may be different for everyone. HTH a bit.

Haha thanks, I could tell he kind of felt bad too. He is really so nice and we all know insurance companies are pretty messed up and confusing.

I am hoping I get a BFP with him soon, I don't want to switch. It's funny bc in the office they are like well hopefully this is the one, and be positive! And I am like yes okay, but what IF can I please see you through September!
