6 Week Check-up
What is done at the 6 week check up appt? I think I heard my doctor say she will do an internal - I thought I was done with those things 
But they will weight me, what else?

Yes, they do an internal. I'm going for mine on tuesday. I thought I'd get out of the internal since I had a c-section.  Don't know what else they do,though.

I go on Tuesday too. I think they do the internal to make sure the cervix completely closed.
But I know this is too much TMI - but I am getting AF - so I am really not looking forward to this appt.

Well, my cervix never opened So I still think I should be exempt
As far as AF goes, I wouldn't worry because I know some women who were still bleeding heavily from giving birth at 6 weeks. And not for nothing, you're not the one who has to do the work down there, so I wouldn't worry too much about yourself

My dr did a pap and an internal - neither felt like it did when I was PG. It was over in a couple on mins and now I'm good to go for a year. Yessss

My doc said they do the internal to see if the uterus is back to its original size. I didn't get weighed or have the urinalysis -- just the exam. I have to go back in 3 mos. for the PAP.

It was a regular exam and they will also check your incision to make sure it is healing nicely

If you had a c-section they will take your incision, check blood pressure, weight and ask you if you have gotten your period yet. I didn't and they asked if I was sexually active yet and when I responded yes, without BC, they freaked and made me take a urine sample to see if I was pregnant again. (I"m not) Then they'll go over your BC options. It's like a regular visit and they will do an internal to check if cervix is closed, or as in my case since I had a C, check to see if the uterus was OK.

She checked my uterus to check for size, had a pap, she checked my epistomity to see how it healed, breast exam and weight. I thought it was just uncomfortable as it was when I pregnant.

Mine did an internal, checked my epiostomy, and went over BC options, and made sure I knew that since I was Bf'ing it doesn't mean i am not fertile. I an appt for 6 months for pap and yearly exam.

Yes, they do an internal. They also weigh you and take your blood pressure. They discuss if you've had any problems and then they discuss birth control (whether you want it or not and if you do, the doc will usually give you a prescription right that day)
