do i have a right to be a bit annoyed..
let me start by saying..i have loved Dr.B and his office since i started with them a whikle ago and never had a prob..even when i waited 2 hrs..i understood sometimes offices get busy..but today i left mad..
i had a appt today at 230..i had called a few days ago to make it and asked for my usual 345 and was told 230 was the lastest they could give me..i said ok,i mean what could i do and had dh leave work early to take me(i do not drive)
so we get there like 210..there is nobody in the waiting room..just us..240 i am called in for blood..ok col..do not know why it took so long but whatever..
take the blood and i am informed Dr.B is on a consult phone call and thats why i have been waiting..i say oh no prob at all..they tell me to take a seat and will go on for my sono in a couple minutes
go back out..at 3pm i get called in..i go in take off my bottoms and sit on chair..305 310 315 320 325 my phone goes off..bbm from my dh..he tells me that noone ever came in(patient wise)and Dr.B plus the staff plus a former patient who brought her twins plus Dr.B's wife are all in the waiting room having pizza and starbucks
It is now 340 and i am livid..so is my husband..Dr.B finally comes in and does my sono..soon as he is done and we begin talking about what we are doing for this cycle his phone goes off...he goes it's my wife and picks up and i hear them talking bout food shooping and making the bank..they speak for 10 minutes and i sit there with just a sheet covering my who ha
he never said sorry for making me wait 35 minutes in that room or for taking a call..
when i came out i had to wait for a scrip for another 10 minutes...
am i overeacting? my husbnad is really annoyed and thinks it was just the rudest thing ever..he said he understands if u get backed up for patients but to leave someone in a room while u r bs'ing outside is crazy
what do you think? sorry so long

What? !?!?!?!?!? Ummm yeah!!!
So the three times I called today to try to get my bw results they told me they were in a lab conference. I guess that's what that entails??
Now I waste another weekend of waiting for results???
You should say something.

Re: do i have a right to be a bit annoyed..
This has happened to me a few times.
The first time was my first consult appt. I waited 2 hours to see him on a Sat, from 11am until 1pm, saw him literally for less than 10 minutes. And his wife, son and a bunch of family members were in the office talking loud and the little kids all playing. He did apologize and say his family was from out of town so I let it drop.
The second time was a morning visit and I was the only one there, I waited so long for blood and then waited for a while in the exam room.
And another time I waited 50 minutes for an IUI. I was so annoyed that time because I was sitting there with nothing to do and was nervous for my IUI.
It's annoying and I guess sometimes it just happens, but you def have a right to be annoyed.

You def have a right to be annoyed. This and the insurance is the reason I switched Drs.
I waited for over 2 hrs for each appt with him. At my new Dr I have never waited for more than 15mins and most times it is only a 5 min wait.

Re: do i have a right to be a bit annoyed..
You have EVERY right to be annoyed. IMO, there is no excuse for an office to consistently be an hour or two behind schedule. That is poor scheduling and poor office management.
I happen to think Dr. B is an amazing doctor but his office situation is really out of control. I have a 10:30 appt next week, and the fact that I am concerned about picking up my daughter at school at 1:00 is really absurd.
I wish he woud somehow get this resolved because he is definitely going to lose patients over it.

what?! that is ridiculous! He is my Dr also and thankfully I havent had to deal w/bs like that. IMO I would def say something! The office is poorly managed and he will def lose patients if these of kinds of things continue to happen!

You have every right! I have never had a doctor take a call while I was with them, let alone a personal call, let alone after I waited so long.
The pizza and coffee while you were in room waiting, I don't even know what to say. I have heard of this.

Re: do i have a right to be a bit annoyed..
I'd be pizzed too! Especially since they are sitting chatting and they could have seen you and let you go then chatted.
My biggest issue with them is on cd3 appointments, they make you sit there naked for a half hour even when you are the only one in the office. Gee thanks. This is great during AF. It's a little degrading. They say don't worry when I warn them I'm cd3 but there are no bathrooms in there so ew! Tmi but I had to throw the vent in.

Re: do i have a right to be a bit annoyed..
I would be very upset if I was you. Luckily I must get there at the right time because I think the most I ever waited in the waiting room was 45 minutes and about 30 with no pants We were waiting for almost 30 minutes for our first sono the other day and my DH said I should just go out with no pants and yell "Jeff hurry". By the time he came in I was so worried I think I was having an anxiety attack.
Unfortunately, I think its just the nature of any doctor who practices alone and is super busy. It's not fair to have pizza and coffee though, that is rude. Hopefully he didn't realize you were waiting or it just slipped their mind. I am sorry you had a crappy experience today!

Re: do i have a right to be a bit annoyed..
You do have the right to be annoyed. I can't tell you how many times I have waited alone in the waiting room for 45 min to have my blood drawn. I always have long waits. I have arrived for a 7:45am appointment to have the office door open and dark, no one there. There have been many mornings where a group of us have waited for at least a half hour for some one to show up and open the office. I have given my appointment time to others so they can get to work since my job is a little more flexible. I always ask when they leave me in the room how long it will be so I know whether to take my book on the table with me. Yes I do think the office is a little unorganized and that it could be run better however he is only one man and honestly I do think he is the best. Im sorry you had to go through all this though. It really does suck!!
