Just some Cookies I made!
For my co-worker's daughter's 3rd birthday party this weekend! She's having a pink/purple lady bug themed party. I just love the little ladybug with her heart shaped spots and her eyelashes. lol!

I was always afraid of it. Merengue powder? I don't know what that is and it makes me nervous. Who knew it was so easy?!

They are so cute! And you are very talented! I am scared of baking. Cooking - no problem, I have no fear, but baking...I am so intimitated!

I'm the total opposite. I burned a chicken quesedilla the other night. You can do it, I promise, the baking is the easy part, the decorating and making it nice is the hard part! lol!
Thanks everyone!

Adorable! What recipe are you using for making royal icing? It's on my bucket list of things to try making!

Yeah, I know what you mean, it can feel like a lot of back and forth. Oops, too much sugar, oops too much water. Just keep playing around with it, you'll get there.
And just in case anyone else was interested, here's the royal icing recipe I use. It's actually the one inside the can of meringue powder. At least, this is the base recipe I use and then I thin or thicken it as needed.
Ingredients: 3 tablespoons Meringue Powder 4 cups (about 1 lb.) confectioners' sugar 6 tablespoons warm water Makes: About 3 cups of icing.
Instructions: Beat all ingredients until icing forms peaks (7-10 minutes at low speed with a heavy-duty mixer, 10-12 minutes at high speed with a hand-held mixer).
NOTE: Keep all utensils completely grease-free for proper icing consistency.
* For stiffer icing, use 1 tablespoon less water.
**When using large countertop mixer or for stiffer icing, use 1 tablespoon less water.
Thinned Royal Icing: To thin for pouring, add 1 teaspoon water per cup of royal icing. Use grease-free spoon or spatula to stir slowly. Add 1/2 teaspoon water at a time until you reach proper consistency.
