12 week ultrascreen ??
I just was released to my OB and she gave me a script for an ultrascreen (that's all it says). I have to go to the hospital for this. What is done at this appointment?

this is the appt they do the screening for down syndrome or other chromosomal abnormalities. They will do a sono and take a bunch of measurements of the baby. Then they will take some blood. The results of the measurements and bloodwork combined give them an idea of your risk level for your baby having downs.

exactly. this sono and blood work is stage 1 of the screening. you go back for more blood work around 15-16 weeks for stage 2. no additional sono.
