This is ok, right?

I'm 27 weeks today, and my Chat Icon has been really active for the last 2 weeks. But since yesterday afternoon, I've hardly felt her at all. Even after I had a milkshake with dinner. What's bothering me is that I had a wisdom tooth extracted yesterday (hence the milkshake!) with novacaine, which my OB said was ok, but my oral surgeon made a big point of telling me that any meds I take will go straight to the baby. He gave me the option of not having the tooth removed, but I went ahead and did it anyway because I'd put it off for 2 years already.

So... is she drugged up in there? Or just sleepy after so many days of banging around all day? I do have a fetal doppler and her heart rate is normal, but unusually low and hard to find... could she just be turned away from me in a weird position then?

One more thing - I weighed myself this morning and I've lost a pound and a half since last week. A wisdom tooth doesn't weigh that much, right? Chat Icon Is it ok to lose weight like that, so close to the third trimester?

Sorry for all the questions, but I'm feeling like a bad mommy this morning.

Re: This is ok, right?

I was possibly going to have to get my wisdom teeth pulled in my second tri ( turned out I was able to put it off ) I had asked my ob and he said that any medicine would sedate the baby which was ok and not the worst thing but not something you want to do on a regular basis. Sounds like your LO is just a bit sleepy. Chat Icon

Re: This is ok, right?

She was prob just having a slower day than usual because she was so active the days prior. My LO does this also and it bugs me to no end.

Try not to worry about the meds or weight loss either. Novicaine is fine and I've had it while PG. Also, I lost weight at my last 2 doctor visits and the doc is not concerned.

Thank you for the reassurance. Chat Icon I've gotten so (happily) used to feeling her, I get worried when I dont. I still feel little kicks every now and then, so I guess she's ok. Maybe i'll have to have TWO milkshakes tonight and see if that does the trick.Chat Icon
