Outer Banks in Mid-September
Is it too risky being hurricane season?
Anyone gone during that time?

I haven't gone at that time, but have gone 4x during the last week of August/1st week of September. In 2006 a tropical storm passed through and we were house-bound for two days; last year, we were evacuated two or three days early because of Hurricane Earl. Even before the evacuation, we were barred from the ocean because of the waves caused by the approaching storm.
