pcos and weight gain

i started gaining weight rapidly once off BCP. Metformin is supposed to help but its not. The doctor said I shouldnt worry about diabetes because I'm on the metformin. I honestly dont understand how diabetes/pcos works and every time i read about it, i zone out- i feel like such an idiot

Has anyone else experienced this? I'm still at a healthy weight but at the rate im going, it wont be long till I'm not. I'm not complaining about the feeling fat and clothes not fitting part (although its quite depressing), Im just really concerned at how crazy my body is acting the past few months. It really suckks.

since on the metformin i started to loose some weight after about 1 month...granted i could afford to loose some weight....anyway.....the side effects kill my belly but are getting better give it some time...your hormones are in wacky mode

i gained a ton of weight after going of BCP - like 35-40 lbs I was on metformin for a few months before BFP and I wasn't gaining weight anymore but I def didn't lose any. Maybe like you said, I just wasn't on it long enough.
