What do you think of Kings Park?
We've been looking in Stony Brook but we may also start looking in KP?
Any opinions on the area? School district?

Re: What do you think of Kings Park?
I lived in KP a few years ago for about five years. It's a nice town but I found it is kind of far away from things (where I lived, it took almost ten minutes just to get to a parkway). I know they've built up the town a bit since I lived there. The school district is supposed to be really good.

Re: What do you think of Kings Park?
My Dad and MIL there and I lived there for a little bit too. It's a nice town with a variety of housing prices and a very good school district. The only thing I didn't like about it was that I usually left the town for shopping. Otherwise, it's great.

Re: What do you think of Kings Park?
We looked there for apartments and loved it. Did alot of research on the schools and they seemed to be rated very high. Unfortunetly we couldnt find anything we could afford.

Re: What do you think of Kings Park?
Thanks for the feedback.
I grew up (for the most part) in Commack but never really been to King Park other than a quick trip to the library.

Re: What do you think of Kings Park?
I really like Kings Park, very family oriented, I know that they are starting to renovate the grounds of Kings Park Psych and the community ispretty upset, they will be yransferring lost of patient;s from pilgrim and nassau/suffolk adult homes and foster homes to that site. Their current psychiatric residence has seriously mentally ill patients an they have been poorly supervised, many wander into town, act inappropriately ( I know this only because a lot of them are my patients), so they are tring to re-vamp the whole site, but the influx of patients will be significant, the community is fearful that the value of their homes will decrease.

Wow! I had no idea! I thought housing redevelopment plans were still in the works.

Re: What do you think of Kings Park?
I love Kings Park.. I grew up there. Schools are good, close to beaches, parkways. There are some stores in Kings Park but not many. I used to go to Commack or Smithtown to shop, only like 10 mins away.

We're looking to move there also. It's a cute town with reasonably priced houses and a great school district!

I didn't know that they were using it. But my friend growing up, her cousin lived in KP and she said she used to walk around town acting silly to try to see if people would think she was from KPPC.
