There is no "Town of Northport" There's a Village of Northport and a Hamlet of East Northport.
There are 10 "Townships" in Suffolk
Babylon
Brookhaven
East Hampton
Huntington
Islip
Riverhead
Smithtown
Southampton
Southold
Shelter Island
All properties in Suffolk County are located within one of these 10 Towns. There are several Villages located within the towns. The Hamlet of Fort Salonga is located within the Town of Smithtown.
