Re: can someone break down the sonos for me?
I had the ultrascreen - around 14 wks I think...and then the level II at around 20 wks. then you MAY have one around 36 wks to check the baby's size. After that I had a LOT more...at the end of my 3rd trimester I had one each wk because they wanted to keep track of my gigantic baby which they said I was having (ahem...she was 6 15! LOL)
But for me, the more sonos the better, I just LOVED seeing her in my belly and watching her move. Oh man I miss being pregnant!

Re: can someone break down the sonos for me?
I had one at week 6, 8.5, 12 (Ultrascreen), 21 (level II) and growth sono at week 32. Since week 32, I have had one a week since baby is smaller and breech - it switch's between a growth and BPP
every doc is different

Re: can someone break down the sonos for me?
Every doctor is different.... My doctor only does a level II at 20 weeks. I did get two more though for other reasons, at 26 weeks (fetal echo to check out irregular heartbeat) and at 39 weeks (we were in a car accident and they wanted to check amnio fluid).

Re: can someone break down the sonos for me?
The ultrascreen is a detailed ultrasound done between 11-14 weeks (but they try to do it usually as close to 12 weeks pg). It is done along with a finger-prick blood test, which combined screens for Down syndrome and other chromosomal abnormalities. The ultrasound is more detailed and measures the folds behind the babies neck - you get a great look at your baby

Re: can someone break down the sonos for me?
I had one every week from 5 weeks to 9 weeks due to bleeding, then I had my ultrascreen at 12 weeks, another one at 16 weeks due to pain and my level II at 20 weeks. I have no idea if an when I'll get another one I miss seeing my little

Re: can someone break down the sonos for me?
I think everyone is different. I have one every week from 5 weeks to 10 weeks, when I was relased from the RE to my OB. Then...at 12 weeks I had the NT screening. At 16 weeks, I had a growth sono. At 20 weeks I had the level II. Then...every 3 weeks I go for a growth sono (like a mini level II) because I have a unicornia uterus...and they want to make sure my cervix is ok...and the baby has enough room to grow in there.
Can't say I'm complaining about the amount of sono's...but it's alot of extra appointment to worry about
