When you made your first appointment.....
Did the nurse (or whoever scheduled you) tell you what you should be doing from now until the first appointment.
The woman who I spoke with said they just want me to be taking prenatals. Nothing else. Fortunately I lurked on this board and did a lot of googling so I know basically what I can/can't do. But I just thought it was weird that they didn't warn me about basic stuff (caffeine, etc), or ask if I was taking any medications that might be dangerous.
Is this the norm?

Kind of yes. My first appt. i was 6 wks. So i guess they assume most people should know to stop certain things right away. Like drinking smoking excessive caffiene & ask Dr.or front desk if you are taking meds on your own if they are ok.

Re: When you made your first appointment.....
That's how it was for me. In fact, when I had my first appointment, my doctor didn't even go over that stuff with me in person! He answered my questions about allergy medications, dyeing my hair, and stuff like that. But never ONCE told me about caffeine, cold cuts, or medicines. I know some women get DO / DON'T lists from their doctors - I didn't get anything. Maybe he knew I'm on LIF?

Re: When you made your first appointment.....
When I called to only schedule the appt. the nurse told me to make sure to take prenatals, thats all. However, within the next week I called like a trillion times with "Can I do this, can I eat this?" Kind of questions I think they assume most women should know the basic "what you can do/eat" questions and they probably know that we will start calling with a trillion questions anyway
