Re: IUI-how many tries did it take you?
I got a BFP after my 3rd IUI, but it was not viable. Betas of 39, 69, then 36.
I got another BFP after my 4th IUI. Numbers initially doubled, but then didn't. Thought it might have been a vanishing twin, but it ended up not being a viable pregnancy and I needed a D&C.
Still waiting for that sticky BFP! I have genetic abnormalities, so that's probably what's causing mine not to stick.
Wishing you lots of luck!

I got pregnant on my 4th iui (but my first injectable cycle). I had a missed miscarriage at 10 wks (chromosomal abnormality).
Tried 3 more iuis after that (all injectable) and am now pregnant with from my first IVF. Just praying and hoping everything is ok this time.

I think everyone is different. We are moving onto our 5th IUI (no success yet) but this time we have added injectibles.
Good luck!

Re: IUI-how many tries did it take you?
I got pregnant last year on my 3rd IUI, carried to 17wks though.. then tried again and got pregnant on my 3rd IUI but it was a chemical.
ETA: I was told that for 80% of people that IUI will work for, it will work in the first 3. That's why many doctors do at least 3 before moving on to IVF.

Re: IUI-how many tries did it take you?-updated with another ?
Thanks for all the responses! The Dr said today after 4, we'd move onto IVF if we chose this route. We have a 4% chance with every cycle. That felt like a kick in the stomach!
Just as a follow up for those who had m/c and chemicals, do you know if IUI's/IVF have a higher risk of mc? I've experienced one before and don't know if I can experience it again
I think Im not meant to have a LO

Don't feel that way - Your time will come!
I got a BFP on my 4th, 5th & 6th IUI's (all on injectables) - 2 m/c's unfortunately, and then my beautiful DD was born!
Hang in there!

i dont see why there would be any greater risk of mc from iui or ivf. if anything youd think the chances would be a bit lower since they both work with washed sperm so you know you are at least getting a better chance of healthier swimmers, and with IVF you work with embryos that have 3-5 days to expand, so the likelihood of them being healthy is at least a tad better than average.
its really way to early to feel like you arent meant to have a baby! this process is long and gruelling and challenging, but you cant give up!! theres nothing wrong with needing medical help to conceive. some people seek medical help to improve how they look, others to fix a flaw or disability they were born with, this is just another one of those things that in most cases can be addressed with the correct treatment. take the time you need to be upset about it, but i promise you, once you come to terms with and accept that you need some help, the less daunting the journey becomes. it does eventually just become fairly routine. although hopefully you wont have to deal with it long enough to find that out!
good luck!
