Air conditioning help!

With summer coming fast; I need to get moving on the AC...

Ideally- we'd love to have central AC installed; although I just dont think its in our budget this year.... If anyone has a ballpark figure or someone they rec'd- Its def on the table for discussion...

We bought 2 window units last year and when we moved they came with us... What I think we will end up doing is using the window units in the bedrooms that are in the back of the house and buying another unit for the other bedroom and have it permanetly installed in the wall (on the side of the house).
Id also like to buy a large unit to cool the downstairs and have it installed in the wall (in back of the house)...

We have a 220 line but it needs to be run (says DH)- whatever that means?..??

Who do we hire to install these things/run the line- AC guys? Electricians??? Any rec'd???

Im so clueless and DH is being sooo stubborn because he wants to splurge and have the central AC done (again- just dont think its in our budget right now!)

Lastly; we have vinyl windows and DH is saying that you cant out AC's in vinyl windows - is this true, or (again) is he just being a PITA because he wants central AC...

Any advice is helpfulChat Icon
