Pain after IUI

So I went for a beta today that I know will be negative. While I was there I decided to speak to the Dr about the pain I have after IUI's. The 1st one I had, I was basically incapacitated. The 2nd one (done by a different dr), I was fine - minor cramping, but not much. The 3rd (done by the same dr as the first) was again painful. BD is so painful I have to bite my lip!

So the Dr said that this was not the norm, but had no real explanation for why it may happen. He said that it could be due to ovulation and irritation after the procedure, but again, he said it was not normal. So I asked if it could impact that outcome and he said no.

Just wanted to see what everyone else's experiences have been as it seems that everyone else does fine with the IUI's. Those of you that get B2B ones, I could not even imagine - I think I would need to be sedated!

My fist iui was over really quick with no pain. The next month it hurt like heck. Same dr. He said it could be due to a lot of fluid build up. I didnt do iui this month but had terrible doubled over type pain for a few days around o. I'm sure iui would have been unbearable.

Okay first i hope you get some good news.
as far as the iui they should not be painful not even sex. maybe you have cervical stenosis. am no doctor but i know i had a similar problem and i had to have my cervix dilated some. even before iui i had it dilated themonth before the procedure and things are much better now and easier to get the catheter in with no problem. good luck.

I have had pain the last 3....very uncomfortable for about a day or so...my Doc said it was normal
