I know, I know... more shellac questions
Can anyone tell me how long this takes? Is it like getting a fill in?
Also, what's the process?

Re: I know, I know... more shellac questions
Sooooo fast. It was awesome.
It's just like a regular manicure (base, coat 1, coat 2, top coat), except they had me put my hands under the UV light after each coat, alternating hands as they polished.
I was done, completely dry to the touch, digging for my keys in my pocketbook within 20 minutes/half hour tops.
The only difference (other than the UV light between coats) was that they dry cut my cuticles before polishing, and then after they polished, used the cuticle cream to clean them up, and then did the whole hand massage, lotion thing.
Your nails cannot have any oils on them before they start polishing or the gel won't adhere correctly.

Yes but in the end the removal is different, it comes off a lot easier and less filing or no filing, therefore no damage.

Thank you! Not sure what my place does differently ( if anything) but I am able to peel the gel off myself after two weeks and never need to file. I peel off before I go for the new gel mani.

My shellac peels off by the 3rd week, I pretty much peel it myself too. I still don't know the different between gel and shellac. Because I thought I was getting shellac at one place and they filled the surface of my nails. It lasted for like a month with no peeling/chipping. the next plain, barely buffed the surface and its peeling by week 3.

Gel is all gel, I believe.
Shellac is a gel/regular polish hybrid, which is why it doesn't last as long.
