trying to keep it together

I am so overwhelmed with work, a million things going on in my personal life, etc. I feel like there are always 20948023984 things I need to be doing and even when I try to take a break I can't. I feel like I could burst into tears at any moment and the gloomy weather right now isn't helping either. We leave for our babymoon on Tuesday so I'm trying to see that as the light at the end of the tunnel but it's also making everything else a lot more complicated, especially work Chat Icon

I'm assuming some of this is hormones but if you've been in the same boat before, I'd love to hear what helped you snap out of it.

Re: trying to keep it together

Im a SAHM mom but i know where you are coming from with the bajillion things to do. So much cleaning, laundry, cooking and i have DH's 30th birthday bbq on Saturday and guess who is doing all the food, still have the nursery to set up, grocery store which i should be going to now but i don't want to leave the house since i hate gloomy weather....it's neverending....i would love a day off...i haven't even had a haircut since July 2009!

ETA: I still haven't snapped out of it, it started the day DD was born and has been crazy ever since and now we have DS coming....god help me....

I cannot agree with this more. I have been having the worst few days. Work is crazy and DH is CRAZY at work too. He's an accountant and not a tax accountant so his busy season is all over the place. I'm solo a lot Chat Icon and i'm so fed up with it. I am the man of the house in every sense of the word and it sux. And add house hunting solo to the list as well, I'm so close to just breaking down

As far as my advice...I'm at a loss, but the vacation would def perk me up! Keep thinking only a few more days and you got this!

Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon I get overwhelmed too. There is so much to do and never enough time.

I try to snap out of it by relaxing with hubby and just forgetting about some of the things...they will get done eventually.

Prioritize. Figure out what can wait...dont expect everything to get done...you also need some "you" time. Im sure you will feel better once you go on your babymoon!!!!!!!

You deserve a relaxing vacation!!

This pregnancy I find I get overwhelmed VERY quickly. And I'm the type of person that eats stress for breakfast and needs to be doing something 24/7. There was one weekend DH was lucky he still had his head because I was flying off the handle over the littlest things. You are going to have times like this. Have a GREAT time on your babymoon! Re: trying to keep it together

I feel your pain! I world long hours at a high stress job. Right now I just keep thinking about the break I will have during my maternity. People keep telling me that it wll be harder than working but they just don't realize how stressful certain careers can be. I am under a ton of pressure every day. Feel better!

Hang in there, you are definitely not a lone!
That's why I cameoin LIfamilies tonight, I was about to loose it & I wanted to post how overwhelmed I am, I thought I'd feel better if I complained a little. Everything is really stressful but at least we all feel the same way. Try to relax

Re: trying to keep it together

You're def not alone. I've been going crazy as well. I have so much going on at work and then think about everything that has to be done at home and it makes me nuts. And I think I'm starting the nesting phase because lately I've been reorganizing everything from my spice cabinet to the medicine cabinet to my files. Nothing is ever clean enough.

What helps me is making lists. I have a list for everything - my work to do list, my regular home to do list, calls that need to be made, stuff to be done before the baby is born, stuff that has to be done while at the hospital, when we come home, etc.
