exposure to shingles
apparently one of the secretaries in my office had shingles last week. she's back today. I don't work closely or even near her; should I call my dr.? I had chicken pox as a kid, but I know nothing about shingles except it's the same strain of the chicken pox virus.

Re: exposure to shingles
If you have had chicken pox then you are fine being around people with shingles. Shingles is something you get after chicken pox that lays dormant in your body. It is usually brought out by stress.
You can't catch shingles, but if you haven't had chicken pox you can catch chicken pox from shingles.
