newie here

Hey ladies DH and I have been trying for the past 8 months of TTC. I have come to the decision of finally taking charge of our situation of not getting pregant already. I had a M/C back in March 2010 and waited 9 months until trying again.

When AF finally shows I have to go to the lab for a series of bloodwork on CD3, then go back on CD20 for another test then make an appt with an RE in my OB practice after CD27.

I get AF every month, I have used OPK and never get a reading to show when I Ovulate. My cycles for the past months have been anywhere from 28-30 days.

Just wondering if the doctor finds nothing wrong and declare your infertilty unexplained what did you do/ have done to start your process of trying to get pregnant. WHen does IUI come into play.

Thank you ladies.

Well I went into the RE because of 2 miscarriages but I assumed there was nothing wrong (we were getting pregnant). Once they did bloodwork/testing I ended up with a list of issues including MF issues. We automatically were told to start femara with IUI's but then the femara didn't work. We soon moved on to injectables! I am not sure in your situation but from what I know, they usually start with testing, then femara/clomid with IUI's but I think it all depends on your situation.

Re: newie here

is femara and clomid if you don't Ovulate? because I get AF every month but trying to pin point when I O is hard. I have tested but come up with Nothing.

My last cycle DH and I Chat Icon starting from CD 7-18 and never got a hit. I got AF one day early on CD 29

I DO ovulate on my own even though I have PCOS. Last month they caught my surge in bloodwork so I didn't have to use a trigger. If you do the IUI's they will give you ovidrel which is a "trigger". It will make you ovulate and then you have your IUI's directly after. The femara/Clomid is to help your folicles grow.

I have unexplained IF. I ovulate on my own. Our first step in our IF journey is Clomid/ IUI. I am in the 2ww now, If I don't get a BFP this cycle I will move on to another drug with IUI.

Re: newie here

really, I thought it was a long time med. thats good to know if I have to go that route.

I have GHI and I am having DH call them up to see what is covered. My OB has an RE in their practice which is covered but I don't know how much is or what the costs are.

thank you again

Re: newie here

I wish AF would show already so I can get the ball rolling. I know I am out because DH and I could only BD once this month because of his out of state trip and I O'd while he was away.
