brazilian/keratin treatment--where to go?
Can anyone recommend a place that isn't too expensive but does a nice job? Would like a chemical free version. Does Hair Club IB do a good job?

I love Hair IB. They charge a reasonable amt and I always have good results.

I wasn't very happy with the results at Hair Club IB, even though everyone else raves about them. I had great results at Cactus Commack (Mayfair) - they were running a special if you get it done on tues or weds, its $175 and includes a salon sulfate free shampoo & conditioner. I think they run the special pretty often. It was the 24 hour one.

I had the 24 hour done at Salon Di Domani (I think that was the name) - based on some recs from here. It was cheap and came out fine. Didn't think it lasted very well though (but I am an everyday hair washer and I tried to skip some days but it was difficult for me).
I've only had JHS at Hair Club.

I also had BKT done at Salon Di Domani - the 3 day - came out very good also.

No such thing as chemical free version. The ones that work the best have formaldehyde in some form.
They all have chemical, I was lucky to get my sister to do it for me with a product made by Coppola, IMO its the gentlest out there with no formaldehyde, but it worked really well for me to smooth out my hair, but not completely flatten it (its naturally curly) If you want her salon info, FM me. I do not want to advertise it publicly.
