Do you run?
I was looking forward to running again this spring, I was going to do the couch to 5K. Is that OK while pregnant? I dont see why not...its not like intense marathon training or anything.
Do you run while PG?

i believe if you ran before you were pregnant its ok to continue to run, but i would prob just moderate it.

Re: Do you run?
My dr said if I ran before I was pregnant that I still could, but not to exert myself past what I normally do and to take it a little easier. I wouldnt start a running routine once I became pregnant though.

This is what I was told also. Also, I believe beyond a certain month you should not run.

Re: Do you run?
DH's cousin ran a 5K with her number on her baby bump! As long as you've been doing it for awhile it's fine.

I did too. But I worked out indoors throughout the winter (spin, kickbox, bootcamp, etc.). As long as you've been active it's ok to keep being active, even if it's a different activity.
I am going to start running again, but right now I'm just taking walks, with maybe a few minutes of joggins - gotta play it safe!

Re: Do you run?
Not a runner but I always went to the gym did spin etc.Dr said I could keep doing spin and other cardiovascular excercises.
1st tri I was too tired to do much but now I have been walking a lot, and briskly.
I plan to get back into the gym this week and do light weights.

Re: Do you run?
I was a runner before and now at almost 22w I don't run. It just doesnt feel right I feel crampy even after a light jog. I do the elliptical, bike, or walk instead. If you ran before you can try to continue and if it doesnt feel right then stop. Also never push yourself to the point that you are breathing heavy. I did run in the first tri but not as fast or intense.

Re: Do you run?
I was a runner before getting pregnant (and will run again) and my doctor said it was okay but I was too tired to run much in the first trimester and then got winded easily in the second trimester so even though my doctor okay'd it and i wanted to run i really didn't run much during my pregnancy. I did stay active with other forms of exercise but running just didn't happen.

This is what I was told too, they dont want your heart rate up to high. I had trouble when I ran because the baby bonced up and down on my bladder, so I would feel like I had to pee SO I put off running during this PG, Good Luck

Re: Do you run?
I'm a runner.. well I was until my back started hurting.. and now I can't run like I used to. My doc was ok with me continuing any activity that I did before getting pregnant, of course you need to listen to your body. Once my back ache subsides and I'm get out the funk of first tri, I want try to jog alteast.. makes me feel like a big lump.
