Clomid 2x same cycle

I went to my RE on April 6th after doing my second round of Clomid with a natural cycle. They said it worked and I had a follices of 16, 13, and 12 and that most likely i would O the weekend of April 9/10th.

I did the OPK test every day and never got my smiley face (last month, I did the same thing and got one). I was on vacation last week and went back this am and they said I still have 2 follicles but they are much smaller at 12 and 9 and my lining is now a 5, which is much lower than my last appointment.

I am also at CD 32 right now.

They took blood work and will be calling me today with the results to see if O'ed and for whatever reason it didnt show up on the kit, and wrote me a prescription for a second round of Clomid in the same cycle. Has anyone heard of this? If my lining is already low wouldnt Clomid not be the right move? Is Clomid going to still help me O this cycle or wouldn't I just be getting AF soon? Sorry for all the questions, just a little confused. Thanks!

I have done that several times. The second time was always a higher dose and always got me to ovulate, only problem is, it ends up making your cycle super long! We finally moved on to injectibles and my cycles are fairly normal now.

I did clomid 2x in one cycle, two different times. cycle 1 was 100mg, and 150 mg. Cycle 2 was 200mg and 250 mg.

I had to do that once. I was 100mg for the second time and it did nothing, so we didn't wait and just did a round of 150 right on top of it. I did O that cycle after round 2. GL!!

its not uncommon to repeat the same meds twice in a cycle if they dont work the first time. however in your case with some follies already and ones that aren't maturing and a thin lining, this doesnt sound like a great idea. im not a doctor but youd probably be better off starting over with a fresh cycle so you can build your lining and start with fresh follies. the longer follies grow without ovulation the poorer the egg quality tends to be. thats not to say you couldnt get pregnant - MANY people do. it's just that if you are already on a medicated cycle why take the chance of poorer quality eggs.
