Re: Stacked frontloaders
I do! When we renovated, we were going to have them side by side but, we changed where they were going to be and we had to stack them (we expanded our linen closet and put them in there to make more room to have a separate office.
I've been happy with it so far (it's only been a week!) It really frees up unused space.
ETA - I like what you want to do!

Re: Stacked frontloaders
We just bought our front loaders. We are only able to have them stacked. No other way to do it.
We bought ours at bestbuy. If you are looking to by the warranties, don't go to sears, go to best buy. They were much cheaper for the same coverage for the same washer and dryer.

I have no problem with it since the washer is on the bottom. It's definitely worth it for the space. ETA - I thought it was harder to put the clothes in the dryer when I had the older models side by side.

gotcha...
i have the frontloaders now but with no pedestals...so i'm squatting or bending low and then twisting to the side to put the wet clothes into the dryer...i'm thinking that putting the wet clothes into the dryer might be better on my back if i stack the dryer on top of the washer...i think the pedestals would be the most comfotable but then i won't have any storage...and i really really need the storage....i just don't want to stack the dryer and its worse than it is now (as far as transferring the clothes)

I'm just 5'4'' and I have no problems reaching the dryer buttons. The dryer has to be stacked on top because the washer is heavier (with the water and such). We have a 4.5 CU washer and the same sized dryer so it's not the smallest option.

I don't think it will be worse - since you only have to bend once and lift (I am on the shorter side though). The dryer has to be on top because the washer gets too heavy with the water in it (I thought the washer would be on top so you should've seen me trying to find the soap dispenser the first time I used it).
