NYC restaurant with visting Britains
DH's old boss is coming to NYC in a couple of weeks. Him and his wife come to NYC every few years. Last time we went into the city to meet them and they said they had found a great restaurant to go to. They brought us to Pizzeria Uno Not what I was expecting to say the least.
So I'm looking for suggestions, so that this time we can treat them and not be stuck at some tourist franchise! They are older then us, probably late 40's, early 50's, so I don't think trendy stuff is really their cup of tea:)
ETA: I'm pretty sure they are both beer drinkers...

Oy! Pizzeria Uno?!?!
Here are a few good ones that are considered "beer" restaurants:
Jimmy's No 43 (though you would need to see if the menu first, I love the food there but its not a huge meal)
Markt and Resto also really good ones.

If they are really into different The Ginger Man on East 36th Street has a wall of beer taps. They don't have an extensive food menu - some sandwiches, salads, appetizers, etc. Good but not a huge variety.

I am biased cause DH's friend manages it... but we had some Brit friends visiting and took them to Butterfield 8. They loved it and were especially jealous that they ordered Ny cheesecake instead of their famous cookie smash for dessert (so we shared with them!). Great restaurant and bar...Would not say they have alot of specialty beers, but the food is fantastic! They have a website if you wanna google them!

DH LOVES B Cafe on 75th & 2nd when he's in a beer mood. I'm not really into beers but I still like it because it's a cute & cozy little place.
