How much frosting do you add to the cake?

When I make the red velvet ones, I only use like 3/4 a can of frosting, even though the original recipe calls for the whole can.

I started with 4T then added a bit more after I mixed that in saw the texture and tasted it. (I think 6T was good)

Someone on here posted that she uses the container of whipped cream cheese instead of frosting. I have yet to try it, but she says it's delicious.

i made them only once. i used the whole can, because that's what the recipe said... next time, i'll use LESS!
i love the cream cheese idea... i love cream cheese!!
