One job spirals into many others
You ever plan to do one simple thing to your house and then you end up needing or wanting to add other projects to it?
We need to have our cesspool mainline replaced, so the front lawn is going to be dug up. So then we thought, ok, well why don't we look into putting down sod so the lawn isn't a big dirt patch. Then we thought, well why don't we pull out those bushes in the backyard and put sod there too. But you know if we're gonna do sod, we should prob look into in ground sprinklers. Yeah, and maybe a brick paver patio too!
A simple $500 job has just turned into a $$$ great idea.

Every project is like that at our house.
We did the stairs. But now need to do the floor. But can't do the floor until we replace the front door...can't replace the front door until we add the extension onto the house...

Always!!!
For her birthday my daughter wanted a room makeover. New paint, new closet door, new furniture. No Problem.  Of course her bedroom door now look bad so we need to replace that, but if we do that then we need to replace all 5 door in that hallway otherwise it would look wrong. And of course the doors will now be white, not wood so it requires us painting the trim all white now, which then leads to painting the hall and stairwell, which leads to painting the livingroom and other hall. It never ends!

We are going through that right now. A few simple ideas to fix up the backyard is turning into $100k project.

That happened with our kitchen. The dishwasher started leaking so we were just going to replace that. Then I decided that if we were replacing the dishwasher, I wanted to replace all of the appliances. Then we noticed there was water damage on the floors, so we had to replace all of the tiling as well.
