how many follies...
did you make when you did injections?
i don't know why, but i expected to have a strong response. i know they have to be careful about hyperstimulation, but when i went yesterday i had 9 potential follicles with 2 leads. from what the doctor said, it sounds like i'm going to lose the leads, which will probably "over-mature" while we wait for the smaller 7 to catch up.
then i know they might not all have eggs, and then all the eggs might not fertilize, and then all the fertilized eggs won't mature well...
anyway, i was disappointed and a little panicked yesterday, so i'm just wondering where i fall on the scale of normal. i want this to work SO BAD.

Re: how many follies...
I only produced about 10 and had 8 at my retrieval. I worried a lot and it's not quantity but quality! There were some days I was so upset! Don't worry, you are good! 5 out of my eight fertilized,we did a 3 day transfer and have 3 frozen.
Wishing u lots of luck and no worrying lol!

Re: how many follies...
i had over 30 follies and ended up with 18 mature eggs that all fertilized with ICSI.
the goal in IVF is to have as many mature as possible. near my retrieval i had some as large as 23 while others in the 16-17 range. if you have two leads the RE should be adjusting your meds so that the others catch up. im assuming you are on something like ganirelix or similar so that the two leads don't ovulate on their own??
again like the PP said its totally about quality and not quantity. if you are working with a total of 11 possibilities at this point, there is no real reason to be upset with that number as long as your doctor is managing the growth. it does seem more important that the 9 catch up even if it means you lose the other two. either way i wouldnt stress over the numbers because you never know what you will get on retrieval day anyway, most people are surprised one way or another. good luck!!

Re: how many follies...
I know it's so hard. I was always a good responder to injectables for my iuis so they wanted to avoid OHSS for me for IVF. Slow and steady wins the race. They kept reminding me it's quality, not quantity.
I showed about 8-10 follies and was sooo disappointed. The day of my IVF, they retrieved 12 eggs. 10 were mature and 10 fertilized. We did a 5dt of 2 embryos and had 6 to freeze (the other 2 didn't make it to freeze).
I am pregnant! So, you just never know. I learned you have to just have faith in the doctors. Good Luck!!!!!!

Re: how many follies...
I only produced 4 on Gonal-F injections. After the trigger, I only ovulated 1 of the 4. That follie's name is now Anthony. <----
