Question about progesterone level ... update

My beta on Wednesday was 64 and progesterone was 75.

Today, it was 170 and progesterone was 71.

Chat Icon Is a decrease normal? I emailed Dr.B, though still waiting to hear back and figured I'd post here in the meantime. He did say in his initial email earlier that it looked perfect, but I'm a little confused.

I thought I usually read that people have an increase.

update.....Dr.B wrote back..... calmed my nerves and said my numbers are better than normal........ phew! I have to get out of the mindset of worrying!! Chat Icon

Re: Question about progesterone level

My current doc says that if you are on PIO you are fine. NSUH doesn't even test for progesterone level when they do a beta. If you are over 20 then it is a good number at this time.

Oh really... thanks. I guess I was just expecting both numbers to go up Chat Icon I think it's a combo of that.. and the fact that I am so used to worrying that it's in my nature to just find stuff!! Chat Icon Chat Icon

That's a great progesterone #. Also, progesterone changes throughout the day...so you might test at one # at one point in the day and then another at a different point. I think that since you are inthe 70's...no worries at all.

As long as your beta is increasing and you are on PIO, you should be fine. Also, the level went from 75 to 71 and that was only 4 units so I would consider that insignificant.

Very happy for you!!!!

If it makes you feel better, when I was at 6weeks with my, Chat Icon Chat Iconmy projesterone was 26 and dr took me off of PIO and went for the less invasive/painful endometrin. My levels have not been checked yet, but the babies are doing great and growing every week. Hang in there

Re: Question about progesterone level ... update

I think it's normal and progesterone doesn't always have to increase. My beta was 142 prog 24ish and 5 days later it was 1266 with prog 21. My ob said my numbers were great and I'm 20+ weeks.
