PCOS or not?
Anyone have a body that acts like it has PCOS even though all th tests come back negative? Apparently, this is what my body is doing.
I am now on metformin and dexasomethingorother during this injectable cycle. What side effects should I expect?

Re: PCOS or not?
I have PCOS, though my bloodwork is all indicative of it.
Metformin MIGHT give you some stomach issues in the beginning but after a couple of weeks you should be fine! Take it with food. With dexamethasone, I never have any side effects. I take it with breakfast.

Re: PCOS or not?
yes, that was my situation exactly. I have all the symptoms of PCOS. I had cyst filled ovaries, long annovulatory cycles, gained a ton of weight after going off birth control, extra hair growth, etc etc. All the classic signs of PCOS. However, when I went for my bloodwork the tests didn't really show it. Dr. B said that can happen and that PCOS can be so different for everyone . He still considers me to have PCOS.
I took metformin and dexamethasone. The metformin messed with my stomach pretty bad in the beginning but then I got used to it after a couple weeks. The dex didn't really give me any side effects.
good luck!

Re: PCOS or not?
I am the same way. I have the ovarian cysts, along with long, irregular cycles. My bloodwork did not come back positive for insulin resistance, which signals PCOS. However, Dr. B still considers me to have PCOS. I take metformin and dex with dinner, and have had no side effects from either.
