Anyone use this practice? I'm just curious what your experience was like.

Re: Suffolk OB/GYN
I have been there for years too.
I saw many different Drs when I was PG and liked them all.

I make it a point to request one of the man Drs. This is just my personal preference. So far this pregnancy I have seen Dr.s Schrieber, Lograno, Marshak (woman), and Strittmatter.
Dr. Strittmatter is my favorite, and I've always liked Lograno since before I got pregnant, but they were all great!

Thanks! I also prefer Dr. Strittmatter, he was very calming. I also liked Dr. Petraco. Next time I am seeing Mashak. Wondering how she is.

She was good...I saw her in the beginning, and it was a pretty quick & simple appointment, but she was nice and knowledgeable. I'm seeing Petraco next time.

Re: Suffolk OB/GYN
Marshak is my reg Dr. I like her, sometimes she is rushed though. She also delivered DD. (San Roman assisted, c-section)
Also like Strittmatter a lot. Petraco was my Dr the whole time I was in labor, but changed shifts with Marshak before she was born. He is good.
Lograno I saw mostly after DD, he checked my incision and took out my staples - so I didn't have much interaction with him.
Met Dr Lee and Dr Richter once, both nice.

Re: Suffolk OB/GYN
Presonally I had an awful experience that I feel was in part, attributed to the fact that there are so many docs in the practice, no personal attention, and I feel like I fell through the cracks. My blood pressure skyrocketed during my pregnancy, I had "some" protein in my urine and I was swelling unbelievably....classic signs of pre-eclampsia. On a Thursday I was told to go home and take it easy and to come back on Monday to have my bp checked. On SUnday morning I had a seizure due to eclampsia bc my blood pressure was so high. I had to deliver my baby at 29 weeks 6 days. Thankfully he is now a healthy and happy 3 year old, but the outcome could've been deadly, for myself and my baby. Obviously I switched docs right away after the baby was born, and when I asked for my records to be given to me, I was asked, "well what part of your records do you want?" SERIOUSLY?!?!?!?! Like I said, I switched and never looked back. I know many people who use them and have used them and have never had a problem. Like I said, I blame what happened to me partly on the fact that there are so many docs and no one is following you closely.

Although I use them and love them...my cousin had a VERY VERY similar experience with them...Knowing this, I MAKE SURE that each Dr I see is aware of any issue that might have come up previously. Luckily I've been having a pretty simple pregnancy. I do also request the same few Drs, each time...I've prob had 8 appointments so far and have only seen 4 of the doctors. Usually when I request doctors, they are able to make me an appt with who I request...I was never told that I HAVE to see every doctor.
But it is def good to point out that when you see so many Drs it may be easy to fall through the cracks!

Re: Suffolk OB/GYN
I did use them but I switched over to Dr. San Roman in Port Jeff. I am very happy about the switch. The practice is smaller and it's more personal in my opinion. With that being said I really never had a bad experience at Suffolk OB . I loved Dr. Lograno at the Port Jeff office. I met with many of the doctors and I never had any issues.

I go there... I have seen Lograno, Strittmatter, Petraco, Richter and Marshak just delivered DS 11 days ago. I have to say that she was wonderful. I honestly didnt care for Richter at all.... very happy for change of shift when Marshak came on!

Suffolk OB/GYN
I know this is an old thread- I am sorry to bump. I just started a new thread asking about this practice, but since there are already many of you here that have had more experience with them I figured I would just reply to this...
I heard a rumor that you never know which doctor you're going to get on delivery day, and that is why they always give you someone different. Is that true? I would definitely prefer to stick with one doctor who knows me so I may think about switching if this is the case.
I would appreciate any input :)

Just so you know this is true with any practice - even ones with only one doctor! Your OB may be on vacation, or sick, or attending to a c-section when you are ready to deliver so you will get the on-call OB. I belonged to a larger practice but saw one doc, my OB, the most. He was at the hospital when I deivered but had an emergency c-section so another OB delivered my DD.
