Can you get a back massage while pregnant?
My lower back has been hurting me the last few months and I would kill for a massage but didn't think it would be possibly being preggo. Are there any types of back massages you can get while pregnant? If so, can you recommend places...thanks!

They have prenatal massages. I would call a spa and see if they do it. Check with you dr too before.

you can get a prenatal message, however, I think most places will not do one unless you are past the first tri. I'd also check with your MD first!

i just got a prenatal massage this past weekend! they had me laying on my back with my legs elevated while they massaged my arms and legs, then i flipped onto both sides with a body pillow so they could do my back. the spa asked for a note from my dr when i booked the massage.

I go to Linda at Welcom Back Massage in Cold Spring Harbor. She is AMAZING and that place is the BEST and very reasonable ($75 for an hour!!!). Plus there are very cute stores with the best baby stuff along that whole strip, so I usually get myself an ice cream cone from the Gourmet Whaler and walk around the cute little town and have such a relaxing day! (My Favorite Place has the most unique baby stuff!!!).
Anyway... back to the massage... Linda is very familiar with what you can and can't do during the pre-natal massage. I laid on my side with a body pillow in between my legs. When I did that at the East Wind Spa, I didn't find it effective, but with Linda - it was VERY effective. She also does AMAZING things with the feet - so relaxing!!!

I had one at 37 weeks and this is exactly what I did too.

Has anyone been to the Foot Spa in Seaford? Heavenly!! It's on Hicksville Road not too far from United Skates. I'm almost 27 weeks pregnant with  . I need this more than anything!!!

My birthday present from DH this year is a prenatal massage. I'm just holding it off until later in my pregnancy when I actually need it! I'm going to go to Drew Patrick in Bay Shore. We did the couples detox massage there last year for our anniversary and they were fantastic!
