washcloths

i went shopping with a friend who wanted to buy some baby stuff for her sister (she's having her 2nd child in 2 weeks). i pointed out washcloths to her and she said she didnt think people used them on babies, but she bought a pack anyway. i thought that was strange. so she gave her sister the gifts and she told me her sister was confused about the washcloths too! apparently she never used them with her first child either.

is this weird to anyone else? what do you use to wash the baby if you dont use a washcloth or sponge? just your hands? i have washcloths on my registry lol

Re: washcloths

I definitely use washcloths with our baby! We use one with soap when we bathe her and another with no soap to help rinse her off.

Also, lately she's had gunk in her eye (slightly clogged tear duct) and we use very thin wash cloths with warm water to gently massage her tear duct and clear out the gunk. My diaper cake had 23 washcloths in it (!!!) and I received several as presents (we have thick and thin ones) and I use them!

Re: washcloths

I can't imagine what one would use instead of a washcloth.

DS is 2.5 and we still use one on him.
