So nervous! UPDATE!

I am hoping that someone can give me some positive or negative feedback on this.

I started my first cycle with Dr.B on just 2.5 mg of femara and my follicle was growing passed 13mm for days and then we canceled the cycle. At some point I DID ovulate on my own but we only BD and do to MF it isn't our best chance so nothing happened.

This month DR.B changed protocol due to further testing. I am now on 5 mg of femara, 150 gonal f 4x and dexamasone daily. I am being so negative that on Monday (monitoring day) I will not have any good sized follicles again and I will either have to come in again for monitoring

Did anyone use this protocol and have really good results after not having anything from just femara 2.5 on its own? I am so nervous of another canceled cycle after so much money and time went into this one.


UPDATE: I actually had 3 follies measuring over 15 and 3 follies measuring 12 and under on CD11! One more monitoring day and then our b2b IUI's...So excited this month might actually work!!

I had NOTHING from 2.5mg of femara OR 5mg of femara! It was really the combo with gonal that did the trick! I was also on 150 for 4 nights and always responded VERY well!!


You have every reason to be hopeful that this protocol will work for you! Even if you are not ready to trigger after your next monitoring appt, there still should be something there! It's possible he will have you come back the next day or something but this protocol should definitely get you something!!


I used to get anywhere from 3-6 follies!

Thanks Penny Cat!! I am praying that we have at least something good on Monday! I already warned my boss that I might need appointments every day next week!

When are they calling with your fert report!?! Are you jumping around over there?

Dr.B said he should get the call from the embryologist around 10 so I assume he will call within the next hour. I'm really nervous

honestly. there is really no comparison between doing femara alone and adding in injectables. i did clomid alone and didnt get past an 11mm follie. the next cycle i did a similar protocol as you, 2.5 femara and 150iu follistim every other day and dex, - i ended up with 10+ follies and hyperstimming and having to cancel the cycle for that reason. i really dont think theres reason to be nervous about having NOTHING, although you may have to go back for additional monitoring, that's just part of fertility treatments and theres nothing wrong with it and it doesnt mean the meds arent working. take it from me, slow and steady is A LOT better than hyperstimming!!

when you add in injectables its a COMPLETELY different game! good luck!!

So glad you got a good update today! It was nice to quickly meet you in the waiting room. When are you going back? I'm going for another sono on Wednesday at 8:30. IUIs will probably be Thursday and Friday.

Jax it was nice meeting you too! I tried to hurry myself along since we both had to be at work! I have an appointment tomorrow early again and my IUI"s are def Thursday and Friday We are going to be exactly dpo buddies lol!!!
