has anyone taken tamoxifen?
I started my first round with Clomid last week. But after two days I had a bad reaction to it and was told I can not take it again.
I went to the RE today and she gave me a prescription for Tamoxifen. Has anyone had any experience with this?

I have never heard of tamoxifen being used in place of clomid, are you sure it isn't femara? I am also a pharmacist and never have seen this. Unless its something newly being used in fertility maybe you can call and double check.

Re: has anyone taken tamoxifen?
While I don't have any experience my RE did take about it earlier in my journey. It's similar to clomid

Yea its def Tamoxifen. Because I had a bad reaction to Clomid she said to try this as a last resort before injectibles. But I have never heard anyone taking it.

Re: has anyone taken tamoxifen?
i dont know anything about this med, but if you had a bad reaction to clomid - wouldnt they switch you to femara/letrazole first before moving to injectables??

Can you email her today? I would just ask, but I'm sure if she's prescribing the Tamoxifen, it's fine.

Re: has anyone taken tamoxifen?
I did a search on google & it is used in place of clomid. Looks like it was more common a few years ago. Your RE probably uses this instead of femara.

Re: has anyone taken tamoxifen?
Tamoxifen is a drug commonly prescribed for women who have had breast cancer or had a threat of it to prevent estrogen driven tumors from forming.
I guess if it supresses E2 it's doing what it's supposed to.
