About to burst into tears - WWYD?
I just feel like breaking down already. I have my beta soon but have been getting BFNs so I know I am out. I wanted to make an appointment with DR.B to figure out what to do next but they said the next appointment is not until April 12! That Is crazy to me. That means I will miss an entire cycle and with my insurance coverage for IF ending in a few months I really can't afford to waste any time. WWYD?
Should I try ti find another RE? DR. B is about 45-60 minutes away depending on traffic but I had heard so many good things about him. But its as though he is "too" popular now because you can hardly get in for an appointment.
I know I'm on all these hormones and whatnot but I just want to burst into tears. Any advice?

First I wanted to give you a bunch of
Maybe you should try calling another RE. April 12th is seem so far away. I go to RSofNY and have never had any problems making appointments. It doesn't hurt to make some phone calls and see what they say.

Re: About to burst into tears - WWYD?
can you try dr B in the city office? he might have an open spot there. Also, i would e-mail dr B, explain your situation and beg for an earlier apt. Of course, it depends on your issues, and you might not need such an experienced RE in RLP and immune issues. But.. if you have some of these issues, i would not go just to any RE.
you can also try dr Tortoriello at SIRM. I did not have great experience with him, but others did. He is also specializing in immune/thrombo stuff.

Maybe you can call Dr. B and ask why they can't see you til then? Is it because they're booked or because that's when they want to start monitoring you again? If you tell them about the insurance issue, they may work with you to start sooner!

I would email Dr B. I talked to him earler this week and he said call the office when I get AF and tell them I need day 3 testing and that he said to get me in so maybe he will do the same.
You will need all sorts of testing done by him since he will want hsi own results not ones from your OB/GYN.

Re: About to burst into tears - WWYD?
Honestly.. I would either call his office back and see if you can get an earlier appt (it sounds as if you're not a patient of his yet?), or look for another RE to see sooner.
I don't know what your issues are, but if its not immunological then there are plenty of other RE's out there who are excellent. I know Dr B is raved about on here.. but he's not the only RE out there (and this board can be rather one sided sometimes when it comes to him)
And just as an aside.. if he's 45-60 minutes away from you, you could end up finding it really difficult to have him as your RE. I'm not sure from your posts if you've already been seeing him or another RE yet, so forgive me if you already know this.. but when you're seeing an RE you need to go in many times during your cycle for bloodwork/monitoring and sonos, so it may be less stressful on you to find someone closer to where you live so you're not really late to work or having to take a day off every time you see him
good luck!

Just wanted to add, that if you are a new patient...you might find that wherever you choose to consult...there is a one or even two month wait. What you might try to do in the meantime is talk to some patients of the practice that you are going to and try to knock out certain tests if you can in advance of your appt such as a recent pap smear, mammogram, etc. At least you will not feel as though you are wasting time.

Re: About to burst into tears - WWYD?
Thank you everyone.
I already had my initial consultation, but I'm coming off a failed FET (I used another RE for that, but Dr. B did my monitoring since he was more convenient and my other RE did all of the planning/scheduling/transfer).
I was trying to make an appointment to see what we can do next since this cycle is a bust.
I did try emailing him the situation about the insurance and appointments, but he basically said there wasn't much he could do and that he couldn't "squeeze" me in because it wouldn't be fair to the other patients (which of course I understand).

When Dr. B wasn't going to be taking my ins I called around and Dr. Hershlag had a 3 week wait. Maybe if you explain your situation, they can squeeze you in? I know he comes highly recommended. He's in Manhasset though so I dont know if that's too far.

Just wanted to tell you that Dr. Hershlag did my ER yesterday and he is super sweet. I adore him. He's an excellent doc and really knows his stuff.
Side note: Do you know who's dad he is?
