Multigrain Pringles

Talk about good advertising...

So this past weekend I was at a relative's house and noticed that they had a can of "Mutligrain Pringles". I thought, "Hmmm, that's funny. Pringles are the chips that they mash into a batter and form in a mold." So I tried a few. They're ok. Then I decide to look at the ingredients to see exactly what these multi grains are....so the chips that they market as sounding healthy are made from corn, wheat (not whole), and rice. Yes, all are grains, but none particularly 'healthy'. Now don't get me wrong, they don't market it as being 'healthy', but I guess most people will just see the 'multi grain' and assume it's healthier than regular chips, when in fact they contain almost exactly the same fiber, calories and sodium as a regular can of Pringles chips.

My point is just that marketing often walks a fine line between a lie and the truth.

Re: Multigrain Pringles

I completely agree. It's an excellent marketing tactic. People see words like "multigrain", "reduced fat" "reduced sugar" and think healthy. Reduced fat could mean it has 18g of fat per serving...rather than 28g!
