Re: REPELLING STRETCH MARKS!
Nothing.
When I was pregnant with DS I tried everything under the sun and it didn't make a difference. My belly wound up looking like a wrinkled bedsheet.
This time I didn't do a thing and just got my first (new) stretch mark last week at 33 weeks.

Re: REPELLING STRETCH MARKS!
from what i hear, no cream has been proven to prevent stretch marks. i heard its hereditary. i use cocoa butter on my belly just because thats what i always use. i read to keep your tummy lotioned just so it prevents it from getting itchy while it stretches

Re: REPELLING STRETCH MARKS!
I keep reading that nothing can be done to prevent them, except good genetics. It has to do with the elasticity of your skin.
I do find a moisturizing lotion to help the itchiness of a growing belly, though.
If you do end up with them, you can try Retin-A after the baby is born to help diminish them, but even that isn't going to do the trick.
However, they do fade over time.

Re: REPELLING STRETCH MARKS!
I used Palmers Stretch mark cream both times and I have NO stretch marks. However, I think it has a lot to do with genetics.

Re: REPELLING STRETCH MARKS!
I didn't start using a stretch mark cream until my 3rd trimester. I used the Mama Mio tummy rub butter...it's AMAZING! 1 tub of it lasted for 2 months. I still have about 1/2 a jar left, still using it postpartum, and STILL no stretch marks (I do think stretch marks are hereditary though...)

My theory on stretch mark cream is this...
If you use it and didn't get any stretch marks, it's because you never would've gotten them anyway.
I used stretch mark cream from day one but my stomach still looked like DS was trying to claw his way out.

Re: REPELLING STRETCH MARKS!
I have been using cream this whole time and mine are on my boobs and not leaving Nobody in my family has them but I do now, I went from a nice round C to an almost double D and I am mortified. I think they're here to stay cream or not

Re: REPELLING STRETCH MARKS!
Almost 26 weeks and nothing yet. Keeping my fingers crossed. I am religious about applying Mama Mio tummy rub cream in the morning, and then the oil at night. I also use the Clarins Tonic Oil in the shower every day.

I agree with this. From all my research, there is nothing you can do to prevent them if you are genetically prone to getting them. Sadly, I know I am

Re: REPELLING STRETCH MARKS!
I have been putting basq oil, lotion, and exfoliating every few days and putting Johnson's lotion (either the lavendar or coco butter and shea butter one) on since the very beginning and I still have stretch marks. My mom has them and all my cousins have them so I guess its hereditary.
I absolutely HATE when people ask if I have stretch marks and I say yes and they reply, "Well are you putting coco butter on your belly?" No, never crossed my mind
