Re: anyone else with PCOS?
I don't have it, but one of my best friends (currently 25 weeks preggo) and two other friends (one still TTC and one with two kids) all have it. For all three of them, they went on Clomid. The one with two kids got pregnant on her first cycle on Clomid, for baby #2 she didn't need any medicine. The one that is 25 weeks got pregnant on her second cycle on Clomid. The third friend that is still TTC, got pregnant first cycle on Clomid and had a m/c, she is now on her third cycle post m/c.
Good Luck!!!

Re: anyone else with PCOS?
PCOS is pretty much a blanket statement for hormonal/ovulatory dysfunction. it manifests different for everyone and therefore treatment is different depending on your issues.
i didnt really have cysts but i have PCOS and i had really high LH levels that prevented ovulation. i tried one cycle of clomid and it didnt do anything for me. i moved onto injectables after that and was able to conceive twice with times interourse but both ended in early m/c. i then found out i have clotting and immune issues that stem from PCOS. i tried two more injectable cycles that were BFN, and then moved onto IVF. in my case its difficult to stim a few eggs for IUI/timed intercourse cycles, and my e2 gets very high very quick, so IVF was a better option. i got pregnant on my first IVF and im now 24 weeks.
what your protocol will be completely depends on your specific issues. some people ovulate and get pregnant on their own even with PCOS. others it takes IVF to get enough good eggs. it really depends on what your issues are, and unfortunately its usually a bit of trial and error to determine the best protocol.
good luck!!

Re: anyone else with PCOS?
My RE told me PCOS is the most common thing he sees and the easiest thing to "fix" (that's if you are not dealing with other issues). For me, I have PCOS along with 3 types of clotting issues. I'm on my first IVF cycle.

Re: anyone else with PCOS?
Follistim, is used in small doses for iui and larger doses for ivf to stimulate the ovaries into producing and developing eggs. It is a subcutaneous injection.

Until I get pregnant and I've heard of others remaining on it during their pregnancy.
