UGH this is ridiculous!!!
Been up since 4am with THE WORST heartburn ever. I am back on Indomethacin for the weekend and the heartburn is back too! I take zantac and prilosec but this medication just kills me for some reason. I have tried everything. Drank milk, chewed gum, ate almonds, drank seltzer took another zantac. I give up. I just want to but I am afraid the indo will come up too and I will lose the dose

Re: UGH this is ridiculous!!!
I was having some TERRIBLE heartburn problems. I've even had them since before getting pregnant (since I was about 16 or so).
The doctor just told me to get pepcid AC and take 1 to 2 pills a day (if 2 then I would do one in the am and one in the pm). I've been taking 1 pill in the pm and although it's only been almost 3 days... I already see a MAJOR difference.
I've tried prilosec and zantac in the past... before being pregnant and they didn't work for me.
I also read that your stomach empties to the right so if you lay on your right side it's supposed to help. that didn't work for me at all... but maybe try it.
Try not to lay down.... keep yourself propped up. And don't eat within an hour of going to bed.
I'm soooo sorry for your heartburn. I know how bad heartburn can be.
Feel Better.

Re: UGH this is ridiculous!!!
I agree with propping yourself up on pillows. That was sometimes my only saving grace.
Also, if it's the middle of the night, I pop a benedryl to get me to sleep fast. It powers over the HB
