Re: Bloody Nose
i don't get this daily. BUT I do blow my nose and there is blood... it happens I'd say a few times a month since being pregnant.
IDK why though. But I'm pretty certain it's a pregnancy thing. I know I read about it, but can't remember the details.

Re: Bloody Nose
This has been happening to me for the last 2 weeks. I blow my nose and it's bloody! I read it is common in pregnancy. The doctor told me to use saline to keep the membranes moist!

Same. Had it when I was pregnant with DS as well.

Re: Bloody Nose
by saline do you guys mean like afrin? those nose spray things?
i use them on planes.
actually really funny quick story: FIL is a deacon... and basically as straight edge as they come. Well he somehow developed an addiction to nasal spray. he couldn't stop using them all day every single day. hahaha! of all things to be addicted to!! anyway they had to ban them from the house and throw out his stash and all. he wasn't allowed to buy anymore either!!
the thought of this cracks me up!! if i use it... i have to not let FIL see me!!! hahahaha!!

I don't know why I think this is the funniest thing ever, but its hilarious!!!!!! I'm sorry for his addiction, but nose spray???
To answer the OP, I get bloody noses a lot, and dry blood every time I blow my nose!

I also woke up the other morning to find my pillowcase with blood on it (as well as some on my hand - I guess I wiped my nose in my sleep thinking it was just runny). Washed the pillowcase immediately and everything came out. That was my first nosebleed this pregnancy so far (21 weeks).

Re: Bloody Nose
I had one really crazy bloody nose when I was about 8 weeks pregnant. I had to pull over..I felt something dripping down my throat- it was blood and I had a bloody nose.
After that incident, I had a few bloody noses, but I usually blow my nose each day to find blood on the tissue...
I think it also has to do with our forced hot air heat in our house, but we use a dehumidifier too.

saline is different than afrin.. u can use afrin for a total of 3 days over that u are at risk for addiction!!! afrin and all those other nasal clearing sprays are chemicals
saline is just a salt water nasal spray - doesnt harm u and there are no chemicals - u can use it as frequently as u want.
i wouldnt use afrin unless the ob says its ok bc it is a chemical.
as far as bloody nose - ive had them daily - 2-3 times daily... tmi - but soak thru tissues for 1/2 hr at a time. im on lovenox and asprin though
