Morphology Ques
I got some results from the RE and one of the issues is that DH came back at 6% for morphology, which is considered abnormal.
I forgot to ask the doc the following, which I'm hoping someone can help me out.
1. What is the number that is considered normal?
2. Is there anything that DH can take/do to improve his numbers?
Thanks in advance for any help.

Re: Morphology Ques
That's pretty normal, actually. I think I remember that they're looking for 14% or higher, but the average man has a morphology of 2%-6%. The WHO (World Health Organization) recently changed their definition of "normal morphology" to 4%, but a lot of doctors still go by the old number. If your man has a normal count (30 mill or so), then 6% of that would be 1.8 million normally-shaped sperm. Still a nice number.
My DH had a morphology of 4%. The RE said it was "low" but we got pg on our first IUI.
I remember someone posting this article for me when I had this question months ago; it was really helpful: Morphology

Re: Morphology Ques
Normal is 14%. 5 months ago DH had an SA where his morph was 4%. I did a ton of research started him on a bunch of vitamins and supplements and at last months SA his morph was 23.3%. FM if you'd like the looooong list of supplements he's on.

Re: Morphology Ques
I think it also depends on what type of analysis is used. My DH had 11% and I was told it was low. We got pregnant on the second shot with my son but we tried unsuccessfully for 10 months (that included one IUI) for my daughter. We finally got pregnant with IVF with ICSI. We have not used protection since having her and still have not gotten pregnant again - although she's only 6 months. I think that he also has low volume but they said it was borderline. Either way, if there is one problem to have, this is it, because your success rates with IVF are really high. We got pregnant on the first round of IVF.

Re: Morphology Ques
In the past according to Krugers standard 14% is normal. By WHO standards 30% is norm. I believe Kruger may have changed their number to 6% recently. I thought I read that somewhere. In any case there are vitamins that can help improve morph. Off the top of my head I can think of grapeseed extract, COQ10, Pycnogenol, Vitamin C, etc. FM me or Mrs. Devito for more info. She got her DH's morph up a nice amount on some vitamins.
Also if count and motility was good I wouldn't worry too much. 6% is not that bad...especially if the count is fine. Good Luck

Re: Morphology Ques
Thanks so much for your responses! I feel much, much better about it. Now I just have to get a handle on the other issues (which unfortunately are mine). I'm sure I'll be posting questions later on.
Have a good weekend.
