Re: For those that said your DH comes to only important appts

Do you care?
For me, I don't. I see no sense in 2 of us waiting for over an hour and a half most times just for weight checks and peeing. He comes to important appts only and thats fine. Plus with a 1 year old-it's hard.
With dd he came to the appts that were at the very end if he was home from work.
What you said!
I am not sure if its because its my second or because I am a SAHM and going to the Drs appts is kinda a nice relaxing time, but it doesnt bother me at all.
I was a little upset he couldnt make our 20 week sono, but that was more for him than me, I felt bad he wouldnt see the baby again before he/she is born. But we did all this with #1 already and I just dont see the need for him to come with me for my 30 second appt!
I would rather him stay home and entertain our 3yo!

I think I only felt slightly bad reading the dads who go to all appointments on here.
At my obgyn office, I'd say 90% of the women are there alone.
This is me. Same at my perinateologist apts, I don't see any DH/SO's with the ladies getting NST's and BPP's. I really don't mind that DH isn't there. I know he's super excited for LO to arrive but he doesn't get excited over sonos like I do and that's ok. He also has a job that he can't just leave for a few hours during the day every week. Also, I find my apts boring enough as it is, I can only imagine what torture it is for him, it's just not necessary.

Nope. I'd rather DH save his days off for the "important" visits and when LO is born....
I can get "checked" by myself....it's usually more time in the waiting room than anything else.
I do INSIST he comes to the 1st appointment and the LEvel II...

Doesn't bother me at all. I'd rather he stay home with DS versus DS being shuffled all around so we could both be at the appointment.

Doesn't bother me at all... To be honest, I don't understand why so many DH's do go. We're just having BP and weight checked, what does DH need to know about either?
DH came to heartbeat and 20 week sono. It was stressful enough trying to schedule appointments for late in the evening, pick him up from the train station and rush over to the doctor's office just for those two visits.

I actually prefer him to not be there I feel like I'm so distracted with him there (especially if we have DS with us) that I can't pay attention to the doctor and I forget to ask the questions I want to ask.

No. DH works in Manhattan so we have to pick and choose which appointments to come to.

No, most are so quick and full of nothing that there is no reason. I did wish he as at the last one, but by the time I was freaking out about it he couldn't get off work. I do wish he coulda seen the sono though!

DH tries to make as many as possible. But really dh is a NYPD 2nd grade Det & so that means overtime. And yes for a regular sono & peeing in a cup. Sometimes he can skip it.

mine comes to pretty much all. I am now telling him he does not need to come to my cervix checks every week. I sometimes like to go alone and he does not need to miss work for those.

Re: For those that said your DH comes to only important appts
My dh only goes to the important appointments. I don't want to make him sit in the waiting room for over an hour just to have dr take blood and nothing more. I bring my laptop and get a productive hour of work done so I don't mind.

doesn't bother me at all. his work schedule is difficult in the sense that it would be hard for him to take off at the last minute. however, we just schedule important appointments around his work sched.
