Niagara Falls
I am thinking about going to Niagara falls this summer. I am in the beginning of my search. Has anyone been there and has info to share with me? I hear the Canadian side is better. Any info would be great!

Re: Niagara Falls
ive been there over ten times and the canadian side is definitely better! the american side has a casino and a view of the falls, but the canadian side has these as well as a bunch of other attractions, restaurants, bars, etc. i would definitely stay on the canadian side. you'll have a great time

Re: Niagara Falls
was just there in Aug; stayed on the Canadian side and loved it! great place, so much fun stuff to do on the Canadian side, just walking around town there's tons to do/see can't list them all. Maid of the Mist was extraordinary.
We drove up, took a day trip to a town called Niagara on the Lake, beautiful town. 30 min drive.
I definitely wouldnt go in cold weather.

Re: Niagara Falls
The best views are from the Canadian side. The "famous" views of the Falls are from the Canadian side.

Re: Niagara Falls
Def. do canadian side. We went in Aug 2009, it was GREAT!!!
We booked out hotel through hotwire, ended up with a GREAT hotel right on falls ave. (1 block away from the falls) for $90/night!!
There are fireworks over the falls like 3 nights a week, look into that.
ALso must do's are:
Maid of the mist - cheao too its like $14/person, you will get we though LOL... head to the top deck of the boat if possible, better view.
Also there is somethign called cave of the winds... (you might have to enter from american side i think) we did it on the way home. Its great you literally climb a staircase parallel to the falls, you get drenched but its amazing!! literally once in a lifetime, you hear and see the falls 10 feet from you!!
Also, Skylon tower. A bit of a gimmich but I liked it. Its basically a HUGe high tower where the top floor is a restaurant with windows all around. Dinner will cost you $100 for 2 people. The whole restaurant spins 360 degress per hour and you have a birds eyes view of the falls. its amazing. Plus after dinner you have an observation deck (like the empire state if youve ever been) where you can see everything.
Have fun! Hope I helped!!

Re: Niagara Falls
The only thing about the canadian side is the Falls are far away-you get a great view but you don't get to feel the power of it as on the american side. You can walk along the river before the falls and stand right over the falls. Its really powerful! So def do both!!
