Am I overreacting?
Be honest ladies. These meds are wreaking havoc on my emotions. So, I started my stims for IVF#1 on Friday. I went thurs for b/w and sono. The nurse called my that afternoon with my instructions. She said to start menopur and bravelle on fri. night.
At this point, I panic. I said, What? I don't have bravelle. She said what do you mean, what you have? I said gonal-f. She said oh ok it's the same thing. Just take 150 gonal-f. She said she would update my chart. Now, I don't understand why it would be on my chart wrong? I've NEVER been on bravelle, only gonal f for my iui cycles. Also, they ordered all my meds for me, so don't they know what they are ordering??
Ok, I let it go because we got it straightened out. Fast forward to today, I go in for b/w and sono (they tell me I'll be coming in for monitoring every other day while on stims). Nurse calls me a little while ago and says to take menopur and bravelle. We have the same convo again!!! (ok, this is a different nurse now), but now I am getting upset! I am really annoyed right now .
DH says on Tuesday, mention it while I'm at my appt. He said to say something to the RE, like I just want to make sure I'm on the right meds, because the last 2 times I was called, they keep telling me to take bravelle, which I don't have.
I mean, c'mon, as if this isn't stressful enough, can't they get their act together?? I mean is this no big deal or am I right to be upset?

Re: Am I overreacting?
i don't think you are overreacting. I would be upset too. As a patient, you want to feel like your provider is paying attention and cares about you...by not listing the correct medications it would make me feel like I am not that important. I would definitely bring it up to your RE. I am sure it was just a simple mix up but you have a right to say something!!

Re: Am I overreacting?
That nurse probably didn't update your chart. The 2 drugs do work the same way but if you want to mention it to your doctor to ease your mind you should. Good luck!!!

Re: Am I overreacting?
i honestly do not think this is a big deal at all. Dr. B never remembered if i was on gonal-f or follistim. since they are virtually the same its really not a big deal to me at all.
def mention it if it bothers you - but its not like they told you to take the wrong drug. these doctors tend to say one brand name more consistently then others. as long as they are telling you to take the correct drug i wouldn't worry about it.

Re: Am I overreacting?
Thanks girls. I just decided to calm down and relax. I known the drugs are all the same, just different brand names. In the grand scheme, as long as I'm taking the right amount and right meds, what's the difference, right?
I'm hoping I only have to be on these another week or so and then won't have to worry about it because I'll get pregnant. Wouldn't that be nice???

Re: Am I overreacting?
the drugs are not the same and I would be pizzed.
Menopur is not Gonal F.
I would have straightened this out before I went any further.
