amazing mussels
how do i make them? i'm a total mussel virgin so you'd have to really walk me through it from bag of raw shellfish to finished product.
i was thinking a white wine/garlic kind of broth...maybe with some pieces of shrimp. the kind of thing you want to scoop up with the shells and drink.

Re: amazing mussels
I made these last night and they came out really good.
Mussels in White Wine
It was the first time I ever made mussels, so I'm not an expert with the whole cleaning process yet but I really liked the way these turned out.

Re: amazing mussels
I heat olive oil and a little bit of butter and saute lots of chopped garlic (do not brown) with fresh chopped parsely, then I add a handful of capers, a shake of red pepper flakes, thrown the mussels in, then add a cup of white wine or a bottle of dark beer (which I prefer). Cover and steam until all the mussels open. Make sure you have lots of crusty bread for the sauce.
