For me they hooked me up to fetal heart rate monitor for about 30 minutes and a sonogram that measured fluid and meconium
there may be one other thing they do, but I can't remember.
It's painless.

I've had several of them. They strap 2 monitors on your belly, one for the baby's heart rate and the other measures contractions (if you're having any). They give you a buzzer and you press it every time you feel the baby move. At least this is what they do for me. I don't think a sonogram is always included in this test, I believe that is a separate test. It's painless.

Ditto for the test. However, if the baby isn't moving enough you're hooked up much longer. I bring a sweet snack so she moves right away!
