Re: Couple of questions..

I;m just answering question two since I was a blabber mouth and came out at 6 weeks when we heard/saw the heartbeat.

Why are you told to stay away from milk and cheese? I was always told to make sure I meet my 3 milk a day for optimal calcium. Obvously unpasturized milk and cheese is a no no.

In the first trimester I tried to ad in lots of fruits, veggies, and lean protiens. I tried not to eat crap and fast food, but when you feel sick you tend to eat whatever baby will let you keep down/enjoy

I had dental problems in my first two trimesters due to the baby steaing all my calcium so I reccomend defiitly trying to meet it. Yogurt is a good source of calicuim if you like it.

Re: Couple of questions..

I didn't think it was that hard to keep it secret. The only time that was difficult was when we went out with friends and they wondered why I wouldn't have a drink.
Like pp said, I just tried to not eat garbage. No fast food, lots of fresh fruits and veggies, and eggs are good too. If you don't like milk, you can get your calcium from other sources too like cheese and yogurt.

Re: Couple of questions..

I told everyone right away EXCEPT work. I am waiting for 12 weeks with them, just in case. I am not a secret keeper and I was so excited I told everyone. A lot of people told me I was crazy and shouldn't have but I did and am happy with my decision.

As far as eating I was super strict until I saw my Dr. The only things I really avoid (of what I normally eat that is) are booze..lol, coldcuts, unpasturized cheese, shellfish, sushi, tuna (not canned) I think thats all really. Oh no sweet and low and other than my diet coke I do not have fake sweetner

I have a cup of coffee in the am, usually a can of diet soda a day (some days I skip it). My dr said both were okay in modertion Chat Icon

Re: Couple of questions..

Well, i literally just found out and we have so many parties coming up. I figured i would get 1 drink and just keep it in front of me but not drink anything! Chat Icon

I was a fast food junkie, so i have to cut that out. My only major concern is i hate veggies, so i need to figure out how i will trick my body into eatting better!

Re: Couple of questions..

I've been trying to eat cereal for breakfast so I can get dairy there, but the milk is not doing it for me. Chat Icon Just looking at it is not good.

Cheese I do in moderation. Mostly I'll have a little on my dinner.

Not telling everyone is very hard. Especially since I see some of them a lot. We are waiting until we can tell both parents next weekend. Then I'll tell the siblings and a friend or two. I just chuckle to myself because they have no idea.

Re: Couple of questions..

It isn't hard for me, because I had 2 miscarriages and I am a nervous wreck to tell anyone and then lose this pregnancy and let down our families, again.

The last party we went to, someone did ask why I wasn't drinking and I just lied and said "I drank too much the night before"Chat Icon

I pretty much eat the same, I believe everything in moderation. (No cold cuts or raw fish.) The only thing I have changed, is I try to drink A LOT of water and not much else.

Good luck !

Re: Couple of questions..

I know.. in the past week and half since I posted this, I saw my parents yesterday and I was a moody biyotch.
My mom was like you are always moody, but this is too much. Keeping it quiet from my parents has been the hardest.. I know my mom would flip for joy, and probably even cry when I tell her.

I have avoided coffee and tea and I need protien. My body craves chicken.. that too rotiserrie chicken Chat Icon Chat Icon I used to eat a ton of chocolate.. now barely anything.

Wine is also a biggie.. I usually tell people I'm driving, and I'd rather not drink or I drank too much yesterday.

Re: Couple of questions..

its hard to keep it quiet and i've had quite a few people ask me point blank, and i'm not gonna lie.
i'm bloated, and it's obvious because i'm generally thin. i am not drinking coffee, also noticeable because i'd always have a cup on my desk/in my hand/hooked up by IV. i'm barely holding my head up because i'm so tired. more obvious because i'm not combatting it with coffee. and i just look sickly, probably because i'm yacking for a decent part of the day.
oh and my office door is pretty much always shut lately - another obvious factor.

lol i just realized i didnt' really answer your question i'm sorry. it's hard to keep it a secret, at least for me. Chat Icon
