window treatments

I have a very wide window in my living room and we already put up mini-blinds. I wanted to put up a scarf too across it, but the longest they comeis 6 yards which seems like it might be a lil bit too short. Do you think it will look ok if the draped scarf ends don't hit the floor? What if they hit the bottom of the window sill or just above it? Can you ladies share pics of your window treatments for bigger windows?

Re: window treatments

I got two scarfs and sewed them end to end so they were double long but that was a little too long for me so I cut the end and just did a quick stitch across it. I made sure that the seam was on top corner by the rod there so that it didnt show. Ibelieve my window was 128" long Which also made a problem getting a rod that long. I bought the longest one I could find and then stuck a wood dowl in it to lengthen it.

oooh, mine is just about that...a little bit longer. The rod you got looks like the perfect length too, where did you get your stuff?

I agree - target is great! I got all of my curtain rods there and loved the selection - and price! I even got the curtain rods for the bedroom on clearance!
