sciatica
Has anyone experienced this in their third trimester? My SIL is 30 weeks 3 days and has been having horrible sciatica pain since this afternoon. She went to the chiropracter after work and he recieved some pain, but not all. She is going back for another treatment tomorrow morning and is hoping to go to work after. She also called her OB who said it did not sound anything like preterm labor and to take some tylenol pm so she would get a good nights sleep. Of course, she is panicing that she is going to have this baby 10 weeks early. But the pain was not a dull pain in the lower back, it was horrible sharp pain that started in the lower back and shot down her leg. Any experience with this? TIA! I am sure she and baby are just fine or else her OB would have wanted to see her, but now her worrying has me worried!

Re: sciatica
It's really common. The bad rests on a nerve that causes it. I have it really bad. So bad that I have to go to sleep in order for me not to be in pain. I hope the baby moves and she gets some relief!

Re: sciatica
I had it around week 27-28. I went to the chiropractor a few times it helped a bit, but one day I woke up and it wasn't bothering me anymore, I think the baby was just planted on my nerve for the week. I am hoping and praying he/she stays off it, it was super painful. I hope your SIL feels better soon.

Re: sciatica
Thanks for the reassurance ladies I just got off the phone with her, still in pain but not as bad as yesterday. She was on her way to the chiropracter in hopes that this will relieve it even more. She's also hoping the baby doesn't sit on this one nerve for the next 10 weeks, thats a long time to be in such pain! I hope you all feel better soon as well, and best of luck with your little ones!

Re: sciatica
I had it bad with #1 and now it's even worse with #2. I've had it pretty much this whole pregnancy. This is the 1 thing I don't miss when not pregnant. Believe it or not, I did have a prenatal massage and it did relieve pain for about a week or so.
