For ladies who are christening their LOs
1. How old will your LO be at the time of the christening?
2. Where are you having party, if you are having one?
3. When did you start planning/booking everything?
Thanks!

Re: For ladies who are christening their LOs
1. Im hoping to do it some time in late October/early November - the baby is due at the end of August.
2. I plan on having it at a restaurant and just doing a dinner.
3. I have not started planning it yet but I may start to get some preliminary information around June or July

Re: For ladies who are christening their LOs
With DS we christened him right before he was 4 months. We had immediate family only out to dinner. Booked everything after he was born.
Planning to do the same this time.

Re: For ladies who are christening their LOs
The baby will be around 2-3 months old. I plan on doing it the end of November (week before Thanksgiving) and I am due September 9th.
We are having the party at the fire house
I will start officially planning once the baby is born, however there are a few things I will have to do prior such as making a guest list. It will be rather large (probably at least 150 people) so I want to have some of the legwork done before I have the baby.

Re: For ladies who are christening their LOs
She will be 2-3 months old and since our list is already over 100 people we will have it at a btw type place and make/ cater the food and get a dj
I would really like to start planning before she gets here but we will see how that goes

DD's Christening is this March and she will be almost 11months old.
We are having the party at the Bohemia Recreation Center.
I started planning in the middle of January.

Re: For ladies who are christening their LOs
Baby will be 3-4 months old. We're still deciding on a party at my DHs firehouse or just taking family out to dinner. I have ideas, but haven't started really planning.

Re: For ladies who are christening their LOs
I am due in July and would like to have the christening in October. Not sure if I want to have a big party though. I would rather put that $$ in a bank account for the LO and just have something small at my house with immediate family.

We'll probably do the same--just a nice dinner with immediate family, or maybe have about 20 ppl over to my in-law's house.
We plan to have it around baby's 3 month birthday, before it gets very cold.

Re: For ladies who are christening their LOs
1. How old will your LO be at the time of the christening? I did both my boys around 3-4 mos old. Plan to do similar for this one.
2. Where are you having party, if you are having one? Not sure where for this baby as my guest list for adults has shortened but kids has grown. Lots of kids to accomodate. In the past, I did restaurants where I can have the whole place to myself or a large part of the restaurant. This time i need more space for kids to be kids but not a full blown catered/wedding type event.
3. When did you start planning/booking everything?
I do it after the baby is born. I know my church wouldn't let you hold a date without a baby born and I don't want to jinx anything. I know I just usually have an idea of how many people beforehand and ideas where to go looking and in the past did call the church to find out when they did do christenings and stuff like that.

LO will be about 3 months I am having it at a catering hall I started planning a few months ago - I know way too early but I knew that with our family it would have to be big! I will do more once LO is here, but I just wanted to get the big things out of the way

Re: For ladies who are christening their LOs
With DD, we christened her when she was 3 months old and had a dinner afterwards at a restaurant. I didnt plan anything until about a month before we had it.
With this baby, I will probably do the same but maybe do a small party at my home instead of at a restaurant.

The baby will be about two and half months old.
We're going to have a big backyard party.
I'm already kind of planning it - but that's because I'm crazy!

I thought I was the only crazy one!! I don't think we are that crazy, I am just a planner and I want to have the time to do it now and not scramble once LO is here!

ditto; I would like to have it before I go back to work on Nov 1. Not sure about a big party yet; there is a restaurant across the street from the church that is great and would be perfect, but I don't know how many they can accomodate.

Re: For ladies who are christening their LOs
With DD, she was 7 1/2 months old...we had to wait for her Godmother to be able to travel in from TX (she was pregnant as well, so we had to wait until she and the baby could fly - DD was born in Aug, Godmother was due in Dec.)
With this LO, I'll be due the end of Oct...and I don't want to do it around the holidays, so we'll likely push it to Spring...April/May, which means DC will be 6 or 7 months
ETS - we had the reception at the Firehouse, and will likely do the same this time around...
